Cisneros affirmed that there was an increase of 7.4% incomes last year as compared with 2007 meanwhile the rest of economic indicators, like costs and net incomes, also experiment advances throughout the year. More than 101 thousand tourists visited the territory in 2008, many of them at least for the second occasion.

Besides Canadian tourists, Cuban first market concerning Tourism, it is becoming usual to see people from many other nationalities in Camagüey, especially in the capital city, whose historic center was recently declared World Heritage Site.

Cuban tourist industry workers are celebrating their national holidays today showing outstanding results in terms of saving material resources and energy as well as donating money and goods for people sick of cancer.

Niurka Barbeito Lastre, General Secretary of Tourist Workers Union in Camagüey, announced that the main event will take place at Hotel Gran Club Santa Lucía, a resort which was acknowledged by Cuban Workers Union.

Santa Lucía Beach showed a remarkable recovery capacity after hurricanes Ike and Paloma.
