Records from Puerto Rico, Colombia, Spain and England are among those nominated to the International Cubadisco 2009 Award with notable exponents by Danny Rivera with his DVD Live Symphony and the Journey and labyrinth by Sting and Edin Karamazov from England.

Also appearing are the CD Arroz con habichuelas, by the Gran Combo of Puerto Rico, The godfather of salsa, Andy MontaNez and Rio, de Aterciopelados. Other CDs and DVDs presented are Reafirmacion, of the Puerto Rican Edwin Colon Zayas as well as a tour CD complex with a DVD entitled Restaurador de suenos, by the Spaniard Víctor Rodríguez.

For the fisrt time International Prize of Extraordinary Music for Children there are CDs of Gandula: El carnaval de la lectura, by a group of Mexican composers, Los ninos tienen la palabra, by the Colombian group Canto Alegre and Parampampin, by interpreters from Austria and Cuba among others.

The gala award event of Cubadisco 2009 will be in May 16 in the Karl Marx Theater in this capital with trophies also awarded to the most relevant Cuban record productions in 2008 as well as the much appreciated special and honor awards.

The most important event of the record industry of the country is dedicated this time to Puerto Rico as the honor guest and to pay homage to children
