Visual arts salon in Matanzas, Cuba to be dedicated to Guayasamín

Specialists from the Guayasamín House will move to Matanzas to present the catalogue of the well known Ecuadorian and Universal painter. They will also offer conferences on the presence of the creator in Cuba and the currency of his work in Latin America, among many other activities.
The Roberto Diago salon, one of the most important of its kind, will made available the awards in the modalities of painting, drawing, installation, sculpture, photography and video.
There will be also given the Visual Arts Award to a creator from the province of Matanzas.
During these days, there will be remembered the visit Guayasamín made to this city, on March 5th, 1997, when he accompanied the leader of the Cuban revolution, to commemorate the fortieth anniversary of the Song to Fidel, by the poet Carilda Oliver Labra.
Personal, collective exhibitions, exchange between artists and the community, book presentations and publications related to visual arts, video screenings and more complete the program of the event, which will pay tribute to this great friend of Cuba called Guayasamín.
