Chef Gerard Dupont, President of the Culinary Academy of France who has given several lectures and master classes in Cuba, has been named Honorary President of the Organizing Committee of the event.
Dupont, who arrived in Cuba on Wednesday, praised the work of Cuban chefs although he said that they need to increase their knowledge regarding food nutrition.
He also recommended the use of less salt and sugar, as in excess they are harmful to health.
