The guest of honor will be Mexican actress María Rojo, who starred in the film "Danzón", which increased the popularity of Cuban music in Mexico.
The festival will consist of a dance contest for children, youths and adults, a workshop on popular dances at Sociedad Unión Fraternal and an international colloquium at the Hispanic-American Cultural Center.
On this occasion, the festival will be held at the theaters Amadeo Roldán and América, the Balear House, the Copa Room Cabaret at the Riviera Hotel, the Caribbean Society and the Julián del Casals House of Culture in Old Havana.
Two scores of Cuban musical groups are expected to participate in the festival.
