This meeting stimulates the cinematographic appreciation in the mountain communities and facilitates the exchange between creators, specialists, critic and general public. The festival will offer a special program that includes works presented in the last events held in the country, such as the 30 International Festival of the New Latin American Film, the 8th Exhibition of New Filmmakers, the 10th Documentaries International Festival “Santiago Álvarez in Memoriam” and the Itinerant Exhibition of the Caribbean. The festival will also exhibit the latest productions of the ICAIC Animation Studios and an International Exhibition of recently made movies. This program will be enriched with presentations, debate of movies, reflection spaces and other musical, stage arts and plastic arts cultural options, according to the possibilities of each area.
During the 5th National Festival of Mountain Cinema will be held the premiere of Ciudad en Rojo, a new movies, directed by Rebeca Chavez and will be organised a tribute to the movie Retrato de Teresa, in the 30 anniversary of its premiere.
As in previous years, the National Festival of Mountain Cinema hopes to reach over 200 communities of every province which has mountain areas.
