Carlos Lemus, director of the Havana's Health Promotion Group, told press that the Cuban program includes the development of preventive actions at community levels.
When stressing the importance to early detection, the expert said a TB patient without an adequate treatment can infect an average of one people per month.
According to Lemus, tuberculosis annual incidence in Cuba is 6.9 cases out of 100,000 individuals.
Considered a world problem, TB has the larger risk of infection in elderly people, malnourished, alcoholic persons, and those with immune deficiencies.
