Freight Vehicles Fleet Improved in Ciego de Ávila, Cuba

Victor Corría Pérez, economic manager of the UDECAM enterprise in the province of Ciego de Ávila, expressed that this addition will allow improving the efficiency indicator, since every vehicle travels 2, 28 kilometres per litre of diesel consumed.
The manager explained that it is the purpose of the Ministry of Transport to have each truck travel loaded to the maximum capacity to achieve higher energy yield on its itinerary.
The rearrangement applied to this sector, and the implementation of the administration and control systems to the fleet, provided Ciego de Ávila over 10 800 litres of saved fuel in the second semester of the last year.
UDECAM is also inserted in the transportation of medicines and delivery of construction materials, mainly in the housing sector.
The port-transport- domestic economy chain in Cuba has been favoured in the last five years through several agreements with China, second commercial partner of the Island. The agreements have made possible the acquisition of locomotives, vehicles and engines.
