In statements to Prensa Latina, Gilberto Lopez, director of Cuba's Tourism Office in France, said the tour was very positive.
The goal was to reach as many people as possible, professionals in the case of the Round and public at the Le Monde a Paris (MAP) exhibition, when everybody is planning their Holy Week and summer vacations," Lopez pointed out. In Paris, the first Cuban Night was held close to the Eiffel Tower, with Los Trinitarios musical band playing and a barman serving the typical mojitos (cocktails with Cuban rum). The tour also included Nantes, Toulouse, Marseille, Nice and Lyon.
Cuba has always bet on the diversity of its tourist product on a long term, including such values as the island's cultural, patrimonial and historic treasures.
For his part, Yoanki Nieves highlighted the warm welcome given to the caravan, made up of representatives of the Ministry of Tourism, the France Office, Gran Caribe, Cubanacán Hoteles, Islazul, Cubatur, Viajes Cubanacan and Havanatur.
Other participants in the Viva Cuba Round were Cubana de Aviacion, Sol y Son, and the Spanish hotel chains Iberostar, Sol Melia and Occidental Hoteles, as well as the associate firms Air France, Vacances Transat, FRAM Voyages and Marsans.
