Defense of the Family and other organizations of Cuban immigrants in Miami that make up the Alianza Martiana.
More than 50 people drove their cars sounding their horns for more than 25 km along the centric Calle 8 Street, from the suburbs to downtown. The cars, with their lights on and Cuban flags, had signs on their sides demanding the lifting of all travel sanctions to Cuba.
According to Areito, this caravan is just the beginning, in 2009, of a campaign led by the Alianza Martiana over several years seeking a change in the U.S policy regarding travel to Cuba by all Cuban-Americans and U.S citizens.
