Cuban Judokas Win 7 Gold Medals in Argentina Cup
The International Judo Cup came to a perfect end for the Cuban men and women's judo teams as they won seven gold medals for their country.

Trainer Ronaldo Veitía told ACN from the event's venue that of his four trainees, only Yanet Bermoy (52 Kg), Kaliema Antomachín (78) and Idalis Ortiz (+78) could compete, and all of them won the title in their weight divisions.

The fourth judoka in his team, Yurisleidis Lupetey (57), had been beaten up in the Pan American Championship so we decided that she would not participate in the Argentina Cup, Veitía explained.

On the men's team, their trainer Justo Noda, said all members of the team: Yasmani Piker (60), Yordanis Arencibia (73), Oreidis Despaigne (100) and Oscar Braison (+100), won the gold medals.

The first competition in Buenos Aires was the Pan American individual tournament, which was dominated by Cuba with 7 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze. Following the island in the scores were Brazil (3-7-4) and Argentina (3-2-4).

The women's team (5-0-0) won the first place followed by Colombia (2-3-0) and the host country (2-0-1), while the men's team (2-1-2) finished in second place after Brazil (3-3-1) and above Canada and Argentina (1-2-3), in an event with 15 nations in competition.

Cuba did not participate in the team tournament of the Pan American event because the requirement was to present five judokas per team.
