Alvarez said the Festival is celebrating Miguel Matamoros´s 115th birthday. Matamoros is the creator of the trio that made son musich worldwide famous.

Aragon Orchestra will be specially honored on its 70th anniversary with a career devoted to the Cuban dancer and most genuine Cuban pentagram.

Among the foreign guest are Son de la Rambla (Spain); Son Varadero (Colombia) and ruedas de casino of Venezuela.

Performance at popular places in the capital and conferences on the topic Tradition and Strong Support to Son in Modern Cuban Music, make up the program of the Matamoroson, to close April 5 in Heredia Theater.
