Cuba will participate in the Pan-American Junior Weightlifting Tournament, scheduled for this month in the Mexican city of Culiacan.

The island's delegation is made up of Adiel Gil (56 kg), Yordanis Espinosa (69 kg), Gerardo Soler (85 kg) and Leonardo Boulet (105 kg). Arlenis Agüero will compete in the women's contest.

According to experts, the tournament will allow coaches to evaluate the Cuban weightlifters prior to the World Cup, slated for mid June in Thailand.

In addition to Mexico and Cuba, another 15 countries, including Chile, Colombia, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Argentina and Brazil, have confirmed participation in the tournament.
