Foreign ministers are Participating in this organizational session are on the third day of debates, and ministers from several countries are discussing the most burning issues.
Cuban Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Abelardo Moreno praised the progress and stated that the paragraphs referring to terrorism and disarmament stand out among those still with no agreement.
Moreno said that the 140 delegations, including members and observers of the Movement, are finalizing a Final Declaration proposal that will be presented to ministers for its approval.
The diplomat also stressed the NAM could make statements on the swine flu, which has killed dozens of Mexicans and infected numerous nations.
The also Cuban representative at the UN confirmed the NAM solidarity with countries that are victims of unilateral sanctions, embargos and natural catastrophes.
The three paragraphs demanding the elimination of unilateral sanctions against Zimbabwe, and another condemning the order of detention against Sudanese President Omar al Bashir have already been approved.
The NAM political commission also supported the rejection of the Caribbean community of nations of the illegitimate British process to turn Turks and Caicos Islands into its overseas territories.
Cuba will pass the pro tempore presidency to Egypt during the heads of State and Government meeting, to be run in the beach resort of Sharm el-Sheik from July 11-16.
