The event, organized by the Albania – Cuba friendship association, the Cuban Embassy in Bulgaria and friends of Cuban from that Balkan country, is dedicated to the 50 anniversary of the Cuban Institute of

Cinematographic Arts and Industry and to the friendship between the people.

Margarita Gjonaj, Secretary of the Friendship Association, made the opening speech, in front of about a hundred guests, indicates the web site of the Cuban Foreign Ministry.

Several Albanian personalities of the culture, experts, professors and cinema researchers, as well as members of the friendship association, local media and members of the diplomatic missions in Albania , attended

this first film event of the Caribbean island in Albania.

The Cuban – Albanian event, that will be end coming nine of May, will exhibit the movies Strawberry and Chocolate, El Benny (image) and Suite Habana. The movies were translated to Albanian especially for this

exhibition, which has been promoted through three Albanian TV channels, the Shekulli newspaper and the Department of Spanish of the Tirana University.
