Cuban craftsmen in France: award to inventiveness and creativity

Armando Trujillo presented in his debut at the Paris Fair different costumes and a great sculpture, which stand out in the Cuban stand for its originality.

Henry Alvarez, from Matanzas, is also taking part for the first time. He is taking with him backpacks, key rings and flowers made with goat skin, as well as Havana Club jar that can be used to play some rumba, musical instruments, trompos and maracas made with cane, bambu and seeds.
He is also having sand from the beach of Varadero in small bottles, bond rings and hand made photo albums made with vegetable fibber.
Yosvany Diaz, from Pinar del Rio is taking part in Paris Fair for the second time. He reinforced his job, consisting usually of small pieces, with big figures made with oak tree wood, enriching the variety of sea animals, such as crabs and lobsters, as a distinctive of the exhibition space.
The exhibition was very successful and was bought by restaurant owners for decoration, he said.
Cesar Batista took part likewise with hand made products, from the combination of several types of strong and very resistant precious woods.
He said it is made to achieve a contrast and a support of the forms, a principle that allows the diversity of craftwork reflected in necklace, walking sticks and paintings among other figures.
Last, Jorge Luis Ramírez, who was absent last year, participate on this occasion with his alpaca and nacre jewellery, very popular in this kid of vents, as well as with other jewellery of women daily life, such as necklace, bracelets and earrings.
