Communication specialist with the Municipal Culture Office, Yubleini Moreira, explained that the inaugural gala will take place May 23 at Guanabacoa’s José martí Central Park, which will be attended by provincial government authorities and representatives from the diplomatic corps accredited in Cuba.
Performances by the National Folk Dance Ensemble and other popular groups, that promote the preservation of Yoruba culture in the country with their art, will also be among the event’s attractions.
Wemilere, which in Yoruba language means "party dedicated to the Orishas" will also include cultural activities in neighbourhoods, while exhibitions allegorical to African culture and its influence on the country will be on display during the event.
The Republic of Namibia is located on the south-western part of Africa. It has over two million inhabitants, and got its independence in 1990; that same year the African nation established full diplomatic relations with Cuba.
