Sponsored by UNEAC, the South Cultural project, the Office of the Historian of the City, the National Cuban UNESCO Commission, the Andalusia Beneficence Society, the Hermanos Saíz Association and the Dulce María Loynaz Cultural Center, the encounter will deal with two main themes: Poetry and citizen responsibility and Poets and the struggle against fights in the Middle East.

The festival will include the evening Palabra del mundo (Words of the world), on May 26 at 6:00 p.m in the Saint Francis of Assisi Basilica.

There will also be a simultaneous poetic action on May 30 at 10:00 a.m in the Casa de los Árabes (Arab House), Casa del Benemérito de las Américas Benito Juárez (House of the distinghuished man of America Benito Juárez), Casa de África (African House), Casa de Asia (Asian House), Casa Simón Bolívar (Simón Bolivar House) and Casa de la Poesía (Poetry House).
