Habana and Pinar del Rio baseball teams are scheduled to open the semifinals of the Cuban National Baseball Championship at the Nelson Fernandez Stadium in San Jose de las Lajas. The names of the starting pitchers are still unknown and Habana might make some changes on its pitching rotation.

Pedroso was the starter for the 1st and 5th games, so Yulieski González might be the one to start on Sunday, but the rest of the pitchers are also ready.

Pinar del Rio manager Luis Giraldo Casanova will send experienced righthander Pedro Luis Lazo to the mound in what may be Lazo last lifetime performance.

Lazo has announced he would retire right after achieving his 250th victory. Now, he has 249.

Pinar del Rio rolled into the semifinals after beating Sancti Spiritus four times in five matches.

Habana has not come to the finals since the 2004-2005 championship, while Pinar has multiple national titles, since 1977. Habana is still looking for its first title.
