When he left the exhibition Viva Cuba open, the chief of the diplomatic delegation praised the artistic quality and the contents of the twenty seven work made by the students from the 1548 Humanitarian Lyceum from the central region of Moscow.

It constitutes a truthful tribute to the 50th anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution, the 114th anniversary of the death in combat of the independence hero José Martí and to the five Cuban anti-terrorist fighters unjustly imprisoned in the United States, added the Ambassador.

The first secretary of the diplomatic mission, Marta Carreras, explained the importance of the project Common Horizon, lead by the Cuban painter Omar Godídez to bring these students closer to knowing about Latin America.

She recalled the conferences on Cuban symbols and the documents that were programmed to familiarize the participants in Viva Cuba with the environment of our country, as well as the printed materials that were handed in to them.

We could never imagine that such minimal information would allow them to capture Cuban colors, the landscape of our archipelago and the feelings of Cubans. They have gone beyond our expectations, she said.

Carreras explained that the diplomas that state the participation in the exhibition include a patriotic image created by Gerardo Hernández, one of the five Cuban anti-terrorist fighters unjustly imprisoned in the United States.

He had to undergo, together with his friends, a process filled with arbitrariness and they were all condemned to disproportionate sentences because they were trying to prevent violent actions against our country that were being planned in US soil at the risk of their lives, he expressed.

Godínez, also told Prensa Latina that he was satisfied with the creative work of the members of his workshop in this institution that is enclosed to the Russian Institute for Radio and Television.

In this lyceum are studying the future journalists and technicians that will work in this communication media and from now on they are getting familiarized with Latin America, he commented.

The exhibition Viva Cuba will be exhibited in Saint Peterburg in the Latina Costa cultural festival between may 18 and 24, where our country is the guest of honor country, concluded the painter.
