The agreement of the National Culture Secretary, signed by Minister Luis Manuel Escobar, highlightes “his compromise with Paraguayan culture” and adds that his visit will “strengthen the bonds of friendship between the brothers of the continent.”

Feliú, a special guest to the celebration of the Bicentenial and the Pro-Tempore Paraguayan Presindecy in Cultural MERCOSUR, was also declared last January 29, Distinguished Citizen by the Asuncion Town Hall, in his first visit to that country.

The Cuban singer and composer participated in a concert of the musician Ricardo Flecha with whom he collaborated in his most recent album Canto de los karai II.

In the performance there were the Paraguayan President, Fernando Lugo, several of his Ministers and members of the diplomatic corps acredited in that South American capital.

During the show, Feliú, remembered the recent anniversary of the death of the Cuban intellectual and independency hero, José Martí, of whom he sang some verses translated into guaraní.

Before he finished the concert he dedicated his CD to the Cubans Silvio Rodríguez, Vicente Feliú and to the Argentinean Teresa Parodi.
