The event, being held at the José de la Luz y Caballero Higher Pedagogical Institute of the eastern Cuban province of Holguín, is being attended by professors, researchers and specialists in these fields of science coming from a dozen countries in Europe, Africa and The Americas.

Sponsored by the Cuban Society of Mathematics and Computer Sciences (SCMC) and the Education Ministry, the meeting coincides with the “Year of Math in Cuba”, the head of the Department of Exact Sciences of Holguín’s Pedagogical Institute, Miguel Cruz, told ACN.

Cruz, who is also the vice-president of the SCMC, added that the event will allow the spreading of results of these sciences and their teaching, as well as for the search for possible solutions to problems related to Math learning.

Workshops, exhibitions, lectures and round tables have been scheduled as part of the event, during which accords, letters of intent and cooperation projects will be signed.
