In general, Vueltabajo harvested over 26 000 000 tobacco poles in the present campaign, and have reached 5 000 quintals of wrapper leaf for export, among other results.
The main event was an occasion to grant the Carlos Baliño distinction to 10 man and women with 20 and 25 years working non-stop in the sector. Likewise the same amount of workers was recognized with the National Vanguard Condition and the Proeza Laboral flag was bestowed upon the Provincial Tobacco Group in Pinar del Río.
Roque Amaya stated that the main event has a double significance since we have the privilege to mark the 98th birthday of Lazaro Peña this May 29, and it is also a commitment to increase the quality and efficiency of the tobacco production.
