According to the assessments of CEM researcher Pedro Pablo Rodríguez, the publication includes a thorough thematic reorganization, checked against the handwritten original texts and publications in newspapers at the time, which makes it possible to organize the materials chronologically, by genre or types of writing.
Each volume has characteristics of its own and multiple supplements which guide its reading and aid a better understanding and interpretation of it. Among the ‘new items’ are over a hundred unpublished texts written by the Cuban National Hero. The director of this edition told Granma newspaper that at the beginning the team could not imagine they would find so many new documents.
So far, 16 volumes of the critical work have been published, although number 13 is still in the printing process.
"We’re satisfied to have a work that will allow us to know and learn from the Maestro," said the researcher. "We were blessed with such a universal man," he said, "and it is our responsibility is to transmit his thinking as completely as possible."
