On June 16 they will attend the official inauguration of the Cuban Museum of the Slave Route and an Afro American exhibition, The Third Root. They will then tour the historical center of Matanzas city and the Historical Site of the Triumvirato.
This last site was the place of the first slave revolt in the country in November, 1843. The Triumvirato Sugar plantation was the center that grouped rebels in the nearby sugar mills. Today there is a monument in memory of the historical event.
Joseph Yai and the delegation will also visit institutes and centers of interest in the Cuban capital as well as the International Film and Television School, the Center of African and Middle Eastern Studies, the National Museum of Fine Arts, the Latin American School of Medicine and Africa House, among others.
