During official talks with Rodriguez Parrilla at the Cuban Foreign Ministry, the African official said that the Cuban Revolution has played and continues to play a key role in the liberation of the oppressed peoples. He pointed out that his country and Cuba have found common grounds during their talks in regards to development problems and current world situation.

He also reiterated Burkina Faso´s rejection of the US economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba and highlighted the Caribbean nation´s collaboration with his country in the fields of education, health, sports and agriculture.

Meanwhile, Bruno Rodriguez said that Burkina Faso is a sister nation, and underscored the contribution of Africa to the development of Cuban culture and history.


The Cuban diplomat acknowledged Burkina Faso´s role in the international arena, particularly in the Non-Aligned Movement, the United Nations Security Council and the Human Rights Council.

We are satisfied with the coincidences of challenges and positions we share in the UN and other international organizations, said Rodriguez Padilla, who thanked the African country for its support of the Cuban resolution demanding the lifting of the US blockade of Cuba.

Bdouma Alain Yoda is paying a five-day official visit to Cuba, whose agenda include a meeting on Friday with Ricardo Alarcon, Cuban Parliament President, among other activities.

Cuba and Burkina Faso established diplomatic relations on December 11th, 1975.
