The 7th Session of the Cuba-St Kitts and Nevis Intergovernmental Commission was inaugurated on Friday in Havana to analyze bilateral cooperation actions in different sectors.

The Cuban delegation is headed by Deputy Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment Minister Orlando Requeijo Gual, while the visiting delegation is led by Permanent Secretary of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, Astona Browne.

The working commissions will review agreements between both nations in areas like health, agriculture, fishing, labour and social security, education, science, technology and the environment.

The meeting will also discuss accords in the fields of culture, sports, disaster management and foreign trade.

The two participating parties coincided on describing bilateral relations as excellent. That is why collaboration programs between Cuba and St Kitts and Nevis are expected to be strengthened during the 2009-2010 period.
