Cuba Elected by the UN General Assembly Vice-President of Committee on Palestine

Cuba was elected vice-president of the United Nations Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People during the United Nations General Assembly’s 64th Ordinary Session that began yesterday.
The Cuban ambassador to the United Nations, Pedro Núñez Mosquera, was unanimously elected to the vice-presidency of the committee.
The Cuban diplomat expressed his gratefulness for his election, which he described as a gesture of trust and recognition of Cuba’s firm position in defense of the Palestinian people.
The Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People was established in 1975 by the UN General Assembly’s resolution 3377. The Committee promotes international support for and assistance to the Palestinian people and heightened international awareness of the question of Palestine.
