Cuban and Spanish companies forming part of the stands of the 2009 Havana’s International Trade Fair have signed a letter of intent to improve the quality of sanitation products made at the Plant of Iron Fittings in Havana.

Penned by director of the island’s Industrial Ironwork Enterprise José Tomas Vázquez García and president of Spain’s Miesa Enterprise Teodoro Bastida, the accord will guarantee the necessary capital for the construction of a modern line for the superficial nickel-chrome treatment of products.

The accord also includes the building of a plant for sewage disposal, which will contribute to environmental protection.

According to a report by the ACN news agency, investment is estimated at 1.4 million dollars and its execution has been scheduled for the first semester of 2010.

The Ironwork Plant produces iron fittings for bathroom, carpentry and locksmith works; economic and luxury bathrooms fixtures; and constructs and repairs ornamental pieces.
