During the last edition in February 2009, the fairground welcomed nearly one million visitors and over one million two hundred thousand books were sold.
Also present were editors, writers, librarians and distributors from 43 countries, while 105 and 159 Cuban and foreign publishing houses, respectively, exhibited and sold their publications.
The artistic program of the Fair entertained the public of Havana with musical performances, cinema exhibits and dancing shows. Highly valued were the concerts by important groups that performed in “Antes del Cañonazo” program organized within La Cabaña Fortress area.
