Expert from the International Peasant Movement praised Cuban agriculture

During the 2nd Agro-ecology International Meeting, underway in central Villa Clara province, 170 delegates from 20 countries are sharing with Cuban producers their expertise in combining natural techniques with scientific developments.
Rosset considered that Cuba’s success is mainly based on not having illiterate people in the countryside and on the government’s will that guarantees the agriculture sustainability as a means of using the natural resources in every region.
Cuban farmer relay on natural practices because they know the environmental benefits, and also apply them combined with the latest scientific researches, which is considered a higher level within the agro-ecological field, he added.
Alvaro Arias, specialist from the Marta Abreu University, explained to ACN how the Agriculture Research Center has achieved remarkable results by means of advisory thus farmers are able to reach to a diagnose tin their farms in order to better know the soil quality.
The participants at the meeting have witnessed the results of the joint work between farmers and the scientific community in the branch.
