The visual arts program includes the exhibit titled “Abrazos Prohibidos” (Forbidden Hugs) a collection by Ernesto Rancaño to be displayed at the Habana Gallery, while the sample “Un instante en la vida” (An Instant in Life) by artist Carlos Guzman will open to the public at the local Servando Cabrera, according to the Website of the event, www.habanafilmfestival.com.
Tina Modotti is another visual art exhibit on the initiative of Festival president Alfredo Guevara that has been organized with the cooperation of the Hermanos Saiz Association and the San Antonio de los Baños International Film and TV School.
The exhibit will open at the centrally located Pabellon Cuba in the heart of Havana and it will pay tribute to a woman whose life was considered intense, deep and committed to her time.
Tina Modotti is considered one of the first photographers interested in social issues. Her work has been widely spread and recognized as she has been described as a revolutionary woman due to her aesthetic and ideological ideas.
Also at the center of the public is the exhibit titled Objetivo Fisahara, organized by the Association of Friends of the Saharan People and the Spanish embassy in Havana. The sample deals with the history of a festival that has made efforts to reach one of the most remote areas on the planet, not only because of its geographic position, but also due to the lack of information and obscurity undergone by the Saharan people.
