The first Meeting of Cuban Residents in Colombia will take place on Saturday and Sunday and it is considered as an opportune moment to fraternize, increase mutual knowledge and develop greater links on common interest issues.
Member of the Organizing Committee Frannz Cachaza told Prensa Latina that the participants will ratify their commitment to the island and condemn the hostile policy of the US government against Cuba for more than 50 years.
That meeting will also be used to demand the immediate release of five Cubans that are unjustly imprisoned in the US for fighting terrorism.
It will be in solidarity with the cause of Gerardo Hernández, Ramón Labañino, Fernando González, Antonio Guerrero and René González, who are forced to an illegal imprisonment for defender their country of violent actions of terrorist groups located
in Miami.
Cuban residents in Colombia, apart from those demands, will also deal with different aspects regarding the reality in their country as well as the deepening of links with immigration, explained Cachaza.
