Near the end of 2009, members of the Union of Journalists of Cuba (UPEC) in Cienfuegos debated works made over the past twelve months, in different fields of the profession.

New technologies and their use in terms of improving communication with potential recipients, not only within the country but to the world as well were also main issues discussed together with the need of enhancing web-logs on the Internet.

Another issue discussed was radio and television correspondents, referring to the preparation and suitability of staff working here.

On this topic, proposals were made based on linking those with less experience with others already settled in this field of journalism.
