The publishing house Editorial Avila, based in the eastern Cuban province of Ciego de Avila, will launch new books by local authors.

The institution will publish the books "La Soledad de los Vivos", by Leticia Sánchez; "Esto No Es un Espejo", by Visitación Ferreño, and "El Libro de los Niños Tristes", by Luís Pacheco Granados.

The publishing house will also organize special book launches, poetry readings and small book fairs.

Editorial Avila will pay tribute to Raúl Gómez García, the poet of the Centennial Generation, and to Rubén Martínez Villena.

Since its foundation in August 2002, Editorial Avila has published about 300 books, including children´s books, anthologies of poems and historic materials.
