Susan MacDade, UNDP resident coordinator in Cuba, said that this agreement facilitates the spread of further environmental information, for the sake of a better understanding by the people on the care and protection of nature.
The issue, she said, is a priority in the work of the organization, both globally and in the communities, especially when the dangers of global warming become more evident and close.
Omar Olazabal, director of Mundo Latino Studio, said that in its more than two decades of life this institution has made some 60 documentaries on subjects related to environmental protection.
This agreement, he said "promotes the work we have been doing and challenges us to increase the quality of our productions, as well as to make more understandable documentaries for both domestic and foreign audiences.
Enrique Dalmau, a signatory of the agreement and assistant to the Small Grants Program of the Global Environment Fund stressed that his entity performs 40 other environmental protection activities throughout the country.
All these solutions are demonstration projects, including implementation of new technologies for the use of biogas, he said the official.
He said they have also promoted the installation of solar panels, the teaching to the beneficiaries on their use and repairs in the communities, and the use of more efficient wood stoves.
