Trovuntivitis project, composed by the troubadours Leonardo García, Raúl Marchena, Rolando Berrio, Yaima Orozco and Alain Garrido, will be host to numerous guests, as the duo Aire y Madera, Havana’s Enfusión, Havana’s singer songwriters Silvio Alejandro and Ray Fernandez, or Nelson Valdes and his group, coming from Cienfuegos.
The Centre Pablo de la Torriente has a significant participation in the festival, thanks to the valuable work of promotion for the young Cuban singers, through the release of albums and books, lectures coordination and the offering of scholarships for junior singers.
The theoretical event of this year is headed by Joaquín Borges Triana and there will be also an exchange between poets and troubadours who have put music to the texts.
Some of the main venues of the event will be the town Caibarién, Theater La Caridad in Santa Clara, the Museum of Decorative Arts, the Cultural Centre El Mejunje, and the Higher Institute of Medical Sciences.
January 9th is a day set in Longina. A pilgrimage to the tomb of Manuel Corona and Longina O’Farril to the cemetery of Caibarien is carried out, to honor those who gave birth and name to this festival of Cuban song.
