On April 4 the first settlers of today’s Holguin city would start to make their living here, that is why, its present day residents and visitors would be surprised by the improvement to come about in its urbanization, in the facades of thousands of housings and roads, among other changes for the community’s wellbeing.
In the almost 90 days to go for the date, all the state institutions, NGOs, and the people in general will join the tasks that will make Holguin turn into a more beautiful and more attractive city.
All the City’s entrance roads will undergo some improvements, including the highway to the Frank Pais international airport, the construction of the Museum of the Holguin Underground Fight will be finished, as well as the refurbishment of hundreds of
houses, that is why they would go on with the program started last year in the allotments Pedro Diaz Coello and Alcides Pino.
A similar refurbishment program took place here 5 years ago at times of the 460 anniversary of the San Isidoro de Holguin farm, and all that was done in the midst of a much more complex economic situation, besides being severely hit then by a lingering drought, however today, there are more favourable conditions to multiply the results.
In the nicknamed Cuban City of the Parks there are 20 People’s Power Councils which do the job of community government, precisely many of these structures will receive new services of sewers and water nets.
Holguin is one of the largest populated cities in the country where the Cuban Revolution has built several industries of a huge importance nationwide.
Holguin dwellers are proud of living, they say, in one of the most beautiful places in Cuba.
