The opening of a service of diagnosis of solar radiation, attached to the Station of Atmospheric Studies in Camagüey, adds a new achievement of the Provincial Meteorological Centre to the scientific work carried out in this central portion of Cuba.

We are talking here about a website, one-of-a-kind centre in Cuba present in the Internet for all users at http://www.lidar.camaguey.cu; said young webmaster Teresita Hernández.

This service of diagnosis of solar radiation in Camagüey, has gathered historical data about the most recent observations and about the meteorological variables.

Technician Carlos Hernández, member of the research team, mentioned that such services are very useful for sectors such as the local Electrical Company.

The atmospheric studies that the scientists of the Meteorological Centre in Camagüey are making are part of a collaboration agreement inked with the University of Valladolid, in Spain.

The opening of the stratospheric aerosol monitoring station in Camagüey, requires now to hammer out a suitable training strategy for its ideal implementation in sectors such as Agriculture, Public Health and Tourism.
