The winner of the Latin Grammy Award in the Best Contemporary Tropical Album Category will invite her son Ariel Jiménez to the stage and she will be also accompanied by her orchestra filled with young musicians, who have been recognized in jazz festivals from all over the world.
The album Gracias includes a theme by Pablo Milanés and Silvio Rodríguez and it included the participation of the Brazilian musician Chico Buarque and the piano player Chucho Valdés.
With this album, Omara became the first Cuban artist, living in our country, to win this award and to be present in the ceremony to receive it.
She also received a nomination to the English-speaking Grammy which will be handed in Los Angeles next January 31. She will not be able to be present in that ceremony since she has other plans and concerts in Europe.
