In a statement published in the state-run newspaper Granma on Friday, officials of the Cuban Olympic Committee said none of the responses from Puerto Rican sports authorities and games officials had met their demands.
The games are set for July 17-Aug. 1 in Mayaguez.
Puerto Rico is a self-governed territory of the United States and subject to its jurisdiction. The U.S. does not have formal diplomatic relations with Cuba.
Jose Ramon Fernandez, president of the Cuban Olympic Committee, told The Associated Press that Cuba wants “equal treatment with all other delegations.”
