Co-chairs of the Russia-Cuba joint inter-governmental committee discussed on Monday aspects of bilateral cooperation during a meeting at the government Reception Palace of the Russian Federation.

Vice President of the Council of Ministers of Cuba Ricardo Cabrisas and Russian Vice President Igor Ivanovich Sechin discussed thoroughly for several hours the most important aspects of bilateral relations.

The implementation of agreements of the ninth session of the committee held on January 2009 was highlighted in this gathering, particularly in the fields of energy, aviation, oil prospecting, transportation and farm and construction machinery.

The analysis also included tourism and education-related aspects.

Both sides present reports, highlighted progress made so far and agreed to continue expert-level talks as of tomorrow.

The delegations stressed the significance of these meetings to review results and agree on next steps to be taken.

The tenth session of the joint committee was scheduled for April in Havana.
