Cuban musician and Goodwill Ambassador of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Jesus ‘Chucho’ Valdes, announced on Wednesday that he is composing a musical piece for the people of Haiti.

The information was known through a press communiqué by the pianist and winner of four Grammy awards who added that he is giving the final touches to a piece entitled ‘Haiti volverá’ (Haiti will Come Back).

“It is almost ready and I will soon start working with my band to record it and take it to the whole world,” said the musician, who has also won other significant international awards.

Chucho Valdes noted that the profits of this record will be donated to Haiti to contribute to the recovery efforts in this Caribbean nation whose capital, Port-au-Prince, was recently devastated by an earthquake that left millions of victims, including thousands of people dead.
