Young Cuban pianist and jazz player Roberto Fonseca and his band delighted a demanding Japanese audience and received standing ovations after each one of their recent performances in Tokyo and Yokohama, which were described as “masterly” by critics in the Asian nation.

The Blue Note of Tokyo and the Motion Blue of Yokohama, centers specialized in jazz music that have hosted world level jazz artists, included Fonseca and his band in their programs for several days.
   
Critics, who described Fonseca as a bright star of Cuban music, praised his performances and the band´s fusion of rhythms.
   
Present in one of the concerts was the Cuban ambassador to Japan, Jose Fernandez de Cossio, who congratulated Fonseca and his group saying that their performances lifted the name of Cuban art.
