Raul Castro Welcomes Nasser's Daughter

Cuban President Raul Castro welcomed on Sunday Mona Gamal Abdel Nasser, daughter of the outstanding Egyptian leader and statesman between 1954 and 1970, the national media ported on Monday.
The meeting allowed recalling Nasser's sympathy for the Cuban Revolution and his solidarity with this nation, his meetings with Fidel Castro, Ernesto Che Guevara and Raul Castro, as well as his decisive contribution to promote friendship between both peoples.
Raul Castro talked with Nasser's daughter about her stay in Cuba, especially the history of this country's Revolution and its solidarity with other nations worldwide.
Mona Gamal Abdel Nasser also expressed gratitude for learning about this country's situation, and was pleasantly impressed by the places she visited and the people she met.
The statesman recalled that during his visit to Egypt in July 2009, celebrating in that country the 15th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement, the head of the Cuban State honored Nasser in front of his tomb.
Havana's historian Eusebio Leal Spengler and Laila Abdel Hamid Gamal Abdel Nasser, granddaughter of the Egyptian leader, also atended the meeting.
