Journalist Kamal Gaballa, president of the association, transmitted that intention to Cuban ambassador in Egypt Otto Vaillant, when the diplomat visited the headquarters of Al-Ahram daily.
"We support Cuba and are ready to improve bilateral relations," Gaballa told Vaillant, who thanked the signs of gratitude and recognition of the revolution headed by Fidel Castro.
Gaballa commented on the draft report to be published Thursday on mutual links. The note includes references to the trip Cuban President Raul Castro made last July to the Arab nation, on the occasion of the 15th Non-aligned Movement Summit.
Meanwhile, the Cuban diplomat referred to historic links between Nasser and then Cuban President Fidel Castro, as well as convenience to foster mutual exchange.
