Enrique Nuñez Rodríguez said once that Antolín (Angel García), was among the most authentic countrymen of Cuba, an affirmation corroborated by the audience of Pinar del Rio that enjoyed his humor show at Milanes Theater last weekend.
This typical "Figure" of the Cuban countries assaulted a crowd eager to see one of his most funny characters: La Pía, who was interviewed on stage by actor Ivan Camejo, also director of the Humor Promotion Center and the show.
In the framework of the show, this fellow citizen told us about his concern for the future Cuban humor: "I do not know new generations of comedians, there has always been a relief, but now we are lack of it, and I am worried because when we were the new generation there were many groups with a very interesting work.
"Today, there are just a few people doing interesting things, especially in the eastern part of the country, but they cannot be called the new generation".
Camejo considers that the present television shows are new and good proposals, but they are not didactic or educative per se, they rather recreate an interesting area of the Cuban citizen that likes to tell jokes, and in that regard might be accepted.
He adds that these are not spaces to train comedians, but to recreate the funny features of certain people. "To be a comedian requires a wide cultural training and ingenuity, not only a funny story to tell."
