More than 320,000 Cubans could vote for the first time on occasion of the April partial elections, National Electoral Commission (CEN) vice president Ruben Perez told press.
The number of new voters joined the list of those over 16 years included in the electoral roll until April 25, first round of the process, to elect delegates to the Municipal Assemblies of the People's Power.
The leader talked of the larger youth presence between electoral authorities and the number of those who make up electoral commissions, above all at a neighboring level.
These elections will be another excellent opportunity for young people to show their qualities, civism, strength, protagonism, awareness and real commitment with the country's fate, Perez told the National News Agency.
Electoral registration are currently being updated to be published in public places, while the CEN is preparing nomination meetings so those voters registered could propose and nominate their candidates.
Nearly 15,093 delegates will be elected on April 25, and on May 2, in second round, in case that any candidate achieves more than the 50 percent of the issued valid votes.
They will meet later to make up the country's 169 Municipal Assemblies, and choose presidents and vice presidents.
