Two book titles by writer and essayist, Reynaldo Gonzalez, were presented yesterday in the 19th Cuban international Book Fair 2010 as part of an homage in the great Cuban festivity reported the Cuban News Agency.

The presentation regarding the narrative of Gonzalez was given in the Nicolas Guillen Hall in La Cabana fortress included a panel of important figures such as Jaime Sarusky, Eduardo Heras Leon, Francisco Lopez Sacha and Marlen Dominguez, among others.

Roberto Fernandez Retamar, president of Casa de las Americas noted that the guest of honor is one of the most important Cuban writers alive and is reason enough to dedicate the fair to him in an act of honest justice.

Doctor Maria del Carmen Barcia who is also honored in this book fair acknowledged that Reinaldo is a person of great human quality and also an excellent writer and essayist.

Ambrosio Fornet, recently granted the 2009 National Award of Literature, commented that Gonzalez has invested great rigor and seriousness to study the area of culture of the mass media, infrequently mentioned and has created a scenario in this world of Cuban culture that did not exist.

Reinaldo Gonzalez told ACN that he appreciated the homage and acknowledged that it is a very great honor and commitment with his readers.

He added that he will visit the provinces until he reaches Santiago de Cuba "because one understands the dimension of this Fair that is not just that, that it is beautiful and great."

At the end of the event his books published by Letras Cubanas were offered to the public including re-editions of the novel "Siempre la muerte. Su paso breve" first published in 1962 and won a mention in the Casa de las Americas Award in 1968.
