Cuban Judo Team to Grand Prix in Panama

France, where they obtained five gold medals at the Judo Laval Tournament held in the European mainland.
Olympic and world medallists Yanet Bermoy (48kg), Idalis Ortiz (over 78 kg) and Osacr Braison( over 100 kg) are among the 16 invited ones, eight athletes each sex, to this regional event that grants points for both the Centro Caribbean Games to be held in Mayaguez 2010 and the Guadalajara Pan-American Contest 2011.
In addition, María Celía Laborde (44kg), Dayaris Mestre (48kg), Yagnelis Mestre(57kg), Maricet Espinosa (63kg), Onix Cortés (70kg) and Yunisleidis Borrego(78 kg)are the other female athletes that are part of the Cuban judo women’s squad, coached by Ronaldo Veitía.
On the other hand, The men’s judo squad coached by Justo Noda is made up by Jesús Marquez (55kg), Yung Chang (60kg), Janiel Peña(66kg), Ronald Girones (73kg), Asley González(81kg), Jorge Armenteros (90kg) and Oreidis Despaigne (100kg).
In addition, the Panamanian Judo event will be attended by the best Latin American nations in this sports discipline such as Brasil, United States and Colombia along with the presence of gold holder in Rotterdam 2009 Yuri Alvear (78kg).
